Anna Barkovová (16. července 1901 – 29. dubna 1976) byla ruská básnířka, dramatička a novinářka. Kvůli své neústupnosti, otevřenosti i lesbické orientaci přišla o možnost publikovat a roku 1934 byla odsouzena k pěti letům v pracovním táboře. Znovu byla zatčena roku 1947 a 1956, kdy opakovaně skončila v gulagu. Roku 1967 se mohla konečně vrátit do Moskvy, kde také poměrně neznámá a v chudobě zemřela. Vybraná báseň je z výboru Osm hlav šílenství.

Anna Barkova (16 July 1901 - 29 April 1976) was a Russian poet, playwright, and journalist. Her intransigence, outspokenness, and lesbian orientation caused her to lose the opportunity to publish, and in 1934 she was sentenced to five years in a labor camp. She was arrested again in 1947 and 1956 when she was repeatedly sent to the gulag. In 1967 she was finally allowed to return to Moscow, where she also died relatively unknown and in poverty. The selected poem is from the collection Eight Heads of Madness.
